| Kristen
is available to teach intermediate beadmaking workshops at studios
that are equipped with lampworking torches.
A
Painterly Approach to Glass Beadmaking
Students
will explore a variety of techniques for embellishing the surface
of their lampworked glass beads. These will include overwraps; dots,
stripes and trails; striped and cased stringers; frits and foils;
and encasements. These techniques form the vocabulary that Kristen
uses to create the floral beads for which she is best known. She
encourages her students to take off in new directions by combining
and expanding upon these basic techniques to develop a personal
style. This is an intermediate class. Previous experience with "soft"
glass and simple beadmaking is recommended.
